Profile
Yanni Chen, female, holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of E-commerce at the School of Economics and Finance. Influenced by traditional Chinese medicine, she believes that both enterprises and individuals are complex dynamic systems and should be understood, explored, and studied from a holistic perspective. This philosophy has shaped her teaching content and research direction.
In terms of teaching, she is dedicated to practice-oriented entrepreneurship education. Since 2017, she has led a team to develop a general entrepreneurship course for non-business students. This course integrates knowledge points from various business disciplines and teaches practical entrepreneurship methods in an easy-to-understand way. The course is highly appreciated by students, with high levels of participation and satisfaction. In addition to student recognition, the course has received numerous honors, such as the second prize in the Fujian Province Teaching Innovation Competition, the Fujian Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Course, and the Fujian Provincial Employment and Entrepreneurship Golden Course. Despite these achievements, she and her team recognize that there is still much room for improvement and continue to strive for perfection to deliver the best knowledge with the most appropriate teaching methods.
In terms of research, before 2022, she focused on entrepreneurial learning behaviors, during which she led a National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Project and a provincial innovation project, and published several papers. After 2022, she shifted her focus to the study of organizational entrepreneurship and innovation behaviors, attempting to explore organizational phenomena using classic theories. Although this transformation has not yet been fully successful, with only one conference paper published so far, she finds the journey long but full of enjoyment.
